Hickory Flat Schools

The traditional heart of the Hickory Flat community is the Hickory Flat 'triangle' bordered by Highway 140, Hickory Road and East Cherokee Drive. Until the late 1990s this area included a gas station, restaurant, veterinarian, library and little else. This area now supports well over 50 businesses including two shopping centers anchored by a Kroger and a Publix.

Immediately bordering the 'triangle' are Hickory Flat Elementary, Dean Rusk Middle and Sequoyah High, with Mountain Road Elementary serving the southern portion of the Hickory Flat community and feeding into the middle and high schools.

The growth in population necessitated splitting these districts, so Avery Elementary, Creekland Middle and Creekview High serve the northeastern portion of Hickory Flat and are also listed here.

	Mizu - Asian food including Hibachi grill. Great food, great service and reasonable prices. (Kroger shopping center)
	Taylors - Neighborhood bar & grill with great lunch specials. (Publix shopping center)
	Johnny's Pizza - A popular neighborhood place with great pizza and cold beer served in frosty mugs. (Next to McDonalds)
	Waffle House - Friendly service and the only 24-hour food in Hickory Flat. Interesting after midnight... (Next to CVS)
	The Frosty Frog - Great treats and delicous ice-cream in a comfortable, family-friendly atmosphere. (Publix shopping center)
	Dos Margaritas - Fast and friendly lunch, and very popular in the evenings. (Kroger shopping center)
